King of us all!

This is Jesus, the King of the Jews - Matthew 27:37 Dear Jesus, King, Lord, we praise you for your sacrifice and suffering. You took on the bond of hell and the torment of death for us poor sinners. Might we always remember this great sacrifice and always rejoice in your victory over Satan. Only through your perfect life, could we be saved. Lord may we come closer to you over Holy Week. May we hear the words of the passion and listen clearly to the message of love you provide. Help us to always think of your great love and act on that love to do good for others. We praise and thank you for a successful VIP day at St. John's! Our community is blessed beyond measure to have such a tremendous support network! Please be with all of our family and VIPs as we near Easter break. Keep them all healthy and well and fully engaged in you. Jesus, King, we are in awe of your goodness and mercy! Thank you for all that you give us! Amen!

Conquerors

" No, in all these things we are more than conquerors  through him who loved us." Romans 8:37 Father in heaven, You, in your great love, sent your only Son to conquer sin and death and the devil for us. What a wonderful gift you gave in your Son. Thank you for the sacrifice and love on our behalf. In a world that is so broke by sin, we are thankful for a community that battles against the sin of the world each day. Thank you for St. John's Lutheran Church and School. Thank you for the teacher, pastors, staff and administration that makes the St. John's community strong against the devil's snares! May all our families, students and staff be strengthened by your love and promises. We pray for all our VIPs who will be coming to campus this week. May we shine like your Morning Star and show everyone who comes that we are grounded in you and the salvation from Jesus. Help us to witness to all those in our midst each day, but especially on Friday for VIP day. ...

The Blind Will See!

39  Jesus said, [ a ]   “For judgment  I have come into this world,  so that the blind will see  and those who see will become blind.” John 9:39 Dear Lord Jesus, We praise you for the gift of physical and spiritual sight. You gave your perfect life on the cross so that we could see your glory through faith in you. We can only receive this through your perfect sacrifice and we are forever grateful for the spiritual sight we have through faith. We pray for all of the spiritually blind in our midst. May our words reach those who have not heard your good news and may our actions demonstrate your love to others. Lord, we desire to win people for you! Jesus, you are the great healer of spirit and body. Please heal those who are ill and suffering from disease and poor health. Be with the elderly and keep them in your care. Especially, be with Pastor Bob that his ankle would heal. We pray this and all those other things that are in our hearts! In your precious...

Your act of pure love and selflessness is a lesson for us all. We thank you Lord that you have revealed yourself to us like you revealed yourself to the woman at the well. May we be moved to faith and action as the woman was by your generosity so that we can serve others.  Jesus, you know the desires of our hearts and we ask you to be with us and answer our prayers as we you see fit. May we seek you in our hearts and see your hand in all things. Please be with all those who are sick or battling illnesses. Be with those fighting cancer and other serious diseases. John 3:16-17 Dear Lord Jesus, Your love is awesome and beyond our understanding. Thank you for the perfect love that you demonstrate to us each and everyday. The power and magnificence of our world demonstrates your love for your creation. We are blessed to be your creation and receive your love. We confess that we are not perfect demonstrators of your love to others. We often fail to loves those who are different than us. We seek your forgiveness for those times we fail to love our enemy. Identity in Christ

"Jesus said to him,  “Away from me, Satan!  For it is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.’ [ e ] ” Matthew 4:10 Dear Jesus, Lord, We come to you knowing that we are tempted daily and fall short of your perfect standard. We are in awe of your power to withstand the temptations of Satan and humbly ask you to give us that same power so we may withstand his temptations as well! Only through your power will be be able to hold back the snares of the devil. Lord we thank you for your goodness and mercy that you pour out on us daily. We ask that you give us a healthy measure of your grace to make it through the deluge of sin in our lives and this world. Help us see you in everything and make decisions based on your work in our lives. Strengthen our faith so that we may make a stand against the powers of evil in this world. Dust

"... for dust you are  and to dust you will return." Genesis 3:19 Dear Father, Creator: Since the fall of humankind you have seen the depravity of our sin, yet you have also provided the Light of our salvation. We praise you for keeping your promise to all those you have called to your side. You promised to send your Son to Adam and Eve and you demonstrated your love and promise-keeping to us by sending him to the cross. Thank you for your love and forgiveness. As we meditate on our sinful nature throughout Lent, we also remember and thank you for your love through Jesus life, death and Resurrection. Thank you for overcoming sin, death and the devil for us! May we always remember the great sacrifice you gave for us. We ask that you continue to be with all those in our community that are sick and recovering from illness. Bring them back to us healthy.
