Coming of the King

"So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem the town of David, because he belonged to the house and line of David." Luke 2:4

 Jesus our King,

 From long ago you promised to save your people. In the fullness of time you came to earth to save us, who you loved. We praise you for your goodness and mercy and eagerly await your second coming. May we continually praise you, especially during this Advent time as we wait to celebrate your birth.

 Through the line of David you kept your promise to come to earth. Even though we are not worthy, you came anyway. Forgive us as we sin against you. Help us to resist temptation and always look to you instead of the world for our help.

 We give you all the glory and thanksgiving for all that is good in our lives, Jesus. Thank you for a safe Thanksgiving holiday and thank you for always watching out for us. 

 Please continue to be with all of those that sick and hurting. Especially be with Mrs. Warneke as she battles cancer. Provide her with all that she needs. Please be with us as we celebrate You and give us safety in all those endeavors.

 We pray this in your powerful name, Jesus. Amen!

Build Them Up

"Each of us should please our neighbors for their good, to build them up." Romans 15:2 Dear Jesus, You build us up so that we can build others up. We praise you for your love and saving grace for us daily. May we use that love and grace to do good in our communities and to our neighbors. We want to transform the world in your name and for your glory. Jesus please forgive us our sins and provide us with a clear conscious that we may live in your love. Help us to avoid the traps of the devil and seek your face at all times. Thank you loving Savior for all of your goodness and mercy toward St. John's and our entire community.
