Joy to the World!

Jesus, our King, You only are our Lord and Savior. THANK YOU for coming down to earth on Christmas to be our personal Lord and Savior. May our hearts be ever filled with joy and love because of what you did for us through your birth, life and death on the cross. During the Christmas season, so many people are looking for peace that can only come from you. Jesus, be the Prince of Peace in the lives of so many people who need you. Be in our lives so that we will always remember that you alone are our rock and salvation. Please be with all of those who are sick or failing health. Heal our students who need your healing grace. May we all be happy and healthy now and continued in the new year! Jesus we love you and adore you! Amen!

O Come all Ye Faithful

O come, all ye faithful, joyful and triumphant! O come ye, O come ye to Bethlehem; Come and behold him Born the King of Angels: O come, let us adore Him,  Christ the Lord. (18th century hymn) Dear Lord, Savior, You are coming Lord Jesus, coming into the world to save us from our sins. You do this each year at Christmas time and remind us that you came once and for all when you came down as a baby in Bethlehem 2000 years ago. We we always be reminded of your amazing love! The words of the hymn writer above remind us to always come to you, Lord Jesus. May we always look first to you instead of to ourselves. May we always come to you to give you adoration and praise. We are thankful that you give us Christmas time to remember the great gift you are to us. May you be in all of our hearts this Christmas season and we celebrate you and you only as our Lord. We come before you to continue to protect those that travel. Heal those that hurt. Mend relationships that are broken. You are

Our King is Coming!

Oh, Give Thanks Unto the Lord

Psalm 136: 1-3 O Lord, our Lord: We come before you with deep gratitude for all that you have done for us. As we celebrate Thanksgiving this week, help us to truly see you in all things and give thanks to you and not to ourselves. May we ever be in your love and care! Please be with all of the families at St. John's. Keep them safe as many travel over the holiday week. Be with our teachers that they may be reenergized for the weeks leading up to Christmas. May we praise your great and glorious name! Amen!

Give thanks in all circumstances!

“give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” ‭‭1 Thessalonians‬ ‭5:18‬ ‭NIV‬‬ Father and provider, We give you thanks and praise for all do your good gifts! As we approach Thanksgiving next week, give us hearts of compassion and hands that provide. May our attitudes be ones of thankfulness to you and for all you give. You have your only Son Jesus for our sins. May be give so sacrificially to others and mirror your love to the world so that others might believe in you. Thank you for the break from school coming up. May we be rejuvenated and renewed as we soon prepare to celebrate the birth of your son! We love you God and Father! Amen!

Give Thanks!

Philippians 4:12-13 Dear God and Father of all, You alone are the One Provider of all and the One Giver of all. We praise you for providing plenty. SJLS is blessed with resources beyond imagination and we owe it all to you. May our plenty be used to bless others as your will and Word be done in the world. Jesus, we fall short. Conquerors through Love!

Rejoice!

We rejoice because we are called to be your children! We praise you for your wonderful acts of goodness and love to all of us and are thankful that you continue to provide for us in so many wonderful ways. Event though we fall short, you are there to pick us up. Please forgive our shortfalls and continue to forgive our sins. In thankfulness we come to you for so many blessings. We are thankful for the blessing of kids who come to school laughing and eager to learn. We are thankful for the blessing of great teachers and leaders at the school and church. Empathy and Compassion

"But  if anyone has the world's goods and sees his brother in need, yet  closes his heart against him,  how does God's love abide in him?" I John 3:17 Dear Father, In the midst of a busy and frantic life, we look to you for refuge and strength. Only through your power can we begin to tread the waves of this world. We praise you for you goodness, mercy and love over us and your creation. How great you are! We often turn a blind eye to our brother in need and sin. May we always seek the good in people and turn out eyes to you and help our brothers and sisters around us. Forgive us when we fail and give us strength to do your good. Thank you for all of your love in our lives. Thank you for watching over our school and church and everyone who comes into contact with us. Our Rock

“The stone the builders rejected  has become the cornerstone," I Peter 2:7 Our Rock and our Redeemer, We praise your name, Jesus, for being our rock through the hard times and our redeemer through your sacrifice. Although we don't deserve it, we receive your love anyway. You are an awesome God who loves us with an everlasting love and we love you for that! Although we fall short of doing what we should for you and others we still desire to be near you. Please forgive us when we sin and be near us through our trials. We thank you your love and forgiveness! Thank you Jesus for your constant protection over us. We are especially thankful for a wonderful to Catalina Island for the 7th graders. Thank you for the fun that is always happening on campus and the deep learning accomplished by our students. We also thank you for our teachers and pastors who pour their hearts into the students weekly and daily. Jesus, continue to be with those who are ill and need your healing.

Patience in Troubles

“Let your hope keep you joyful, be patient in your troubles, and pray at all times.” Romans 12:12 Dear Jesus Christ, You are the eternal God who saves and through your mighty power you give us power over all troubles and evils. Even you youbgive is troubles they refine us through your power. We ask you to be with us in all troubles. Strengthen us and give us peace in any outcome. Jesus you are the healer. Be with those who need your healing power. Let them experience the power of your presence. Give hope and strength to all. We love you Jesus and thank you for your eternal love for us even when we don’t deserve it. Thank you for everything you do! Amen!

Wisdom

"The heart of the discerning acquires knowledge,      for the ears of the wise seek it out." Proverbs 18:15 Father in Heaven, We praise and thank you for the wise words of your Holy Book that you have set on our hearts. The Bible is the only true source of wisdom that leads us to everlasting life with you. May your wisdom prevail in our hearts today and always. Although our own words fail, you give us hearts that are full of your love and forgiveness. Thank you for always loving us enough to have your Son die on the cross for our sins. Thank you, Father, for your goodness and preservation in our lives. We thank you for the good times and the hard times that helps us grow. May we always be thankful to you for your goodness and love. Thank you for a wonderful school year and for so many exceptional parents, pastors and teachers! Father, please continue to be with those who are ill and need your healing touch. May we always be that strong beackon of your love to our neighbors. We need you Lord because we have fallen short in so many ways. We praise you for your goodness and mercy. One in Christ

Ephesians 4:4-6 MSG Dear Savior of the world, Christ you gave so much for us so that we might be your children and live with you forever in heaven! We praise your name and your love for us in all that you have done. Although we fall short of your glory, we come before you in humble adoration and ask that you forgive us and help us lead lives that are pleasing to you. May we always remember you and what you have done for us! THANK YOU Christ for the gift of salvation and for the gift of education. At St. John's we can always do both and proclaim you while learning. THANK YOU for 136 years of education at St. John's! THANK YOU for the 648 families

God's Handiwork

"For we are God’s handiwork,  created  in Christ Jesus to do good works,  which God prepared in advance for us to do." Ephesians 2:10 Dear God, our Father, As your handiwork, we are ever-grateful and praise your name for always being good to use and loving us. Your love flows for us through your Son Jesus and we love you for the gift of His life in place of ours. Although we are sinners, you chose to love us, just the way we are. We confess our sins to you and seek your forgiving power through Jesus. May we be white as snow in the blood of your Son. Thank you creating Father for the good works that you place before us. May we, St. John's, always be ready to do good works for your kingdom! Please continue to be with all of those in need. Watch over our students as they finish out the last week of the school year. Be with all families as summer soon begins! We pray this all in your powerful name! Amen!

Endure

"Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary  and lose heart." Hebrews 12:3 Dear Father in Heaven, Through you we endure the pain and suffering of this world and through you we receive our eternal reward in heaven. We praise you for watching over us, for loving us, and for always providing for our needs as you see fit. As the only God of the universe, we laud your name to all the ends of the world so that all may know that we are yours: a child of God! Although we sin much and deserve nothing, you are good and continue to give us good things. We confess our sins to you and thank you for the forgiveness you freely offer through your son Jesus! Without his love and power we would have nothing. We thank you for the confirmation of faith that so many 8th graders made on Sunday. May their faith continue to grow strong, while rooted in you alone! We thank you for a successful SJLS Gala and for the many, many people who gave freely
