Give Thanks!

12 "I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. 13 I can do all this through him who gives me strength." Philippians 4:12-13

 Dear God and Father of all,

 You alone are the One Provider of all and the One Giver of all. We praise you for providing plenty. SJLS is blessed with resources beyond imagination and we owe it all to you. May our plenty be used to bless others as your will and Word be done in the world.

 Jesus, we fall short. Although you provide, we fail to give thanks. Although you are generous, we fail to give back. Please forgive us when we fail and renew in us spirits of grace and energy to always give you the glory.

 Thank you for all that we have. In the weeks and days leading up to Thanksgiving, we cannot thank you enough. May our offerings be pleasing in your sight and may our hearts be generous.

 Father, be with those who do not have food, shelter, clothing and other needs. Help us to bless those in need. Be with those who are morning and those who need your healing touch. Be close to all those who need to feel your love.

 We love you God: Father, Son and Holy Spirit! Amen!

Build Them Up

"Each of us should please our neighbors for their good, to build them up." Romans 15:2 Dear Jesus, You build us up so that we can build others up. We praise you for your love and saving grace for us daily. May we use that love and grace to do good in our communities and to our neighbors. We want to transform the world in your name and for your glory. Jesus please forgive us our sins and provide us with a clear conscious that we may live in your love. Help us to avoid the traps of the devil and seek your face at all times. Thank you loving Savior for all of your goodness and mercy toward St. John's and our entire community.
