Making Disciples

Jesus went up on a mountainside and called to him those he wanted, and they came to him. He appointed twelve[a] that they might be with him and that he might send them out to preach and to have authority to drive out demons. These are the twelve he appointed: Simon (to whom he gave the name Peter), James son of Zebedee and his brother John (to them he gave the name Boanerges, which means “sons of thunder”), Andrew, Philip, Bartholomew, Matthew, Thomas, James son of Alphaeus, Thaddaeus, Simon the Zealot and Judas Iscariot, who betrayed him. Mark 3:13-35

Heavenly Father,

All praise and honor to you, Holy Lord and King of creation! You have given us our beautiful earth and everything in it. We thank you that you have appointed us stewards of your creation. May we be diligent in preserving your treasure and our daily bread.

We thank you for those the preach and teach among us! Just as you called the twelve disciples,  you call us to lives of service to you. Be especially with our teachers, pastors, and parents. Let us all teach your children to be faithful and proclaim your Word throughout our community.

St. John's is a teaching and preaching post in the world and we thank you for our church and school! Let us continue to raise up disciples for your edification. May we all continue to learn and grow closer to you in all our daily life.

All praise and honor go to you, Lord! May our week be blessed in your holy name!

Amen!
